Summer rides to beach and temples

Being nature lover is all about going out there and enjoy what it offers. My home town and around is packed with ever green scenic spots, beaches, rich network of roads connecting villages, rolling terrain sprinkled with small hills, tall coconut trees giving shelter from sun's fury and almost nil traffic for most part. With everyone in family wishing to remain indoors, this time was best to go out and ride.

Wait, without a cycle, how will I ride? Luckily my uncle has a Hercules MTB. I asked him to lend me his cycle for two days. He obliged with a curious look, thinking what the hell am I gonna do with it in this hot summer.

My plan was to spend 3 to 4 hours post lunch. Without the torch and cycling accessories, I had to return before dark. So here goes the photolog of the two rides:

Day1: Kodi Beach

Day2:

The cycle required few repairs and tweeks for riding longer distance. So front tire replaced, muck cleaned from drive rings, chain re-lubed, break assembly aligned and she was ready to roll.
Started post lunch with an intention of riding a loop. My only support was a 300ml water bottle just big enough to fit in pocket; I was targeting to refill water every 10kms.

First view point, a bridge over river Seeta near Barkur. I will meet the river again further at Kokkarne.

Getting into the land of Cashew

A nice pair of Cashew

Reached temple at Mandarthi

Refilling my lifeline at the temple

Moving ahead towards Kokkarne town

Crossing river Seeta again, effectively river splits today's loop

Time for a selfie;
Nice to see water in the river during April!!

Beautiful bridge leading to lush green canopy

No water here...

Calm and quiet

A villager gave a mini-jackfruit (hebba-halasu)

Ripe, ready to relish; as yummy as its color

Riding further along freshly laid tarmac

Taking another break here before joing a busy last stretch at Pethri town

Sunset before reaching home

The loop and rolling terrain

Looking forward to the next holiday and next ride!
